My parents in the Sacramento metro told me there is more than one "tent city."

Re: Tent City in CA?
I suspect people are in cars, vans, etc. as well that aren't being noticed.

Re: Tent City in CA?
Let us think logically here for a moment. If people are losing jobs and being evicted. Where are they going to go? Some may be lucky enough to have a motor home if they were really living the good life... but seriously. How many are living out of their cars and moving along place to place because law enforcement is telling them some code or law says they can not stay there.
Sorry, just doing my job. But where can I stay? There is a homeless shelter on 30th and West. That is all full. Try to get there earlier tomorrow, but you can't stay here tonight... Now what folks? Whatever you do...do not collect any public assistance...that makes you a bad person. |
Re: Tent City in CA?
Believe me, these encampments are much better than having the homeless sleeping all around the neighborhood. And since when does 50 dwellings constitute a "city"?

Re: Tent City in CA?
I don't see why folks just don't motor on out of Mexifornia to where the jobs are like Texas and Louisiana? With oil back to $50 BBL, some life is coming back to the oilfield, but then its WORK.:banghead:
